Kanye West's Yeezy sneakers are quite pricey and for people who are sneaker-junkies, they are a must-have! A pair of the much-awaited Nike Yeezy sneakers, which West debuted on stage at the 2008 Grammy Awards, is to be sold, with Sotheby's predicting the shoes could be sold in excess of $1 million.
According to an AFP report, the Nike Air Yeezy 1 sneakers are part of a private sale ¡ª which means neither the final price nor the buyer will be disclosed unless the individual comes forward. It is, after all, a collector's shoe.

The sneakers range was the first to be launched by West¡¯s Yeezy brand, and created a fashion change when he wore them during a 2008 Grammys performance. Previously, Nike had only worked with athletes, and West¡¯s shoe was a pleasant change for the US shoe brand.
The Air Yeezy 1 launched in a limited series in 2009, followed by the Air Yeezy 2 in 2012.
However, after that, in the following year, West ended his partnership with Nike. He deemed his share of the revenue insufficient and went on to work with Adidas in 2014.?
The partnership was a huge commercial success and generated almost $1.7 billion in revenue in 2020, according to an internal UBS bank note cited by Bloomberg.
Even though he is not the sole designer of the shoes, West heavily influenced the look.?
The sneakers, which are being sold by shoe collector Ryan Chang, will be on display in Hong Kong from April 16.
In August last year, a pair of Nike Air Jordan 1 was sold for $615,000 by Christie¡¯s.
There are many fake prototypes of the shoe brand going around as well. How does one tell if a Yeezy is fake??On real Yeezys, the heel tab is closer to the ankle collar than in the fake sneakers.?
Also, the black stitching going up the middle of the midsole is unique on the real Yeezys, usually, an organized corresponding square and ¡°X¡± pattern that is different from most of the unauthorized sneakers and their more archaic stitching.?
Most writings on unauthorized soles are white and in the opposite direction to that on the real pair, with further discrepancies visible in more stitching and size tags.
