Twitter is known for being a platform where people come together, regardless of how different they are. However, one man irked many people on the platform after he thought it was a good idea to post a picture taken without the consent of an individual and shame them.??
In the now-viral post, Twitter user CJ Bhau uploaded an image of a woman smoking a cigarette while sitting down at a train¡¯s entrance gate. From the looks of the image, it was apparent that the woman being photographed wasn¡¯t aware of the man clicking her picture.
Over violating her space, the user went on to write in his caption, ¡°Saw this woman smoking by the train gate, and felt disgusted and disappointed with these so-called modern women. Where are we heading with this? Pity.¡±
Obviously, people on Twitter had thoughts on the man¡¯s unprovoked smear campaign. The post quickly gained traction and garnered over a million views on the platform.
People were unpleased with the man using the woman¡¯s photo without her consent. One user complained: ¡°@IRCTCofficial violation of section 167, Railways Act, 1989. Please take action.¡±
While one was upset with the man¡¯s outright misogynist take, ¡°Where we are heading is dependent on people like you being a little more open in your thinking and realising that it¡¯s a free world. Would you have taken picture of a man doing the same?? Why not ?¡±
Another chimed in, ¡°I must have seen more than 500 boys , uncles doing the same thing ! I feel pity for them too.¡±
One fellow went a little further and berated the man, ¡°What a creep, clicking people's pictures without their consent. You should first be disgusted by and disappointed in yourself.¡±
While another corrected his statement, ¡°Worried about her lungs? I don't see any other reason why u shld feel disgusted and disappointed!¡±
