A Spanish tourist named Tresna Soraino arrived in India back in March, but her travel plans went haywire post the imposition of the nation-wide lockdown.?Being stuck in India turned out to be more of a joyous opportunity than an inconvenience for her.
According to a TOI report,?Soraino is?an industrial designer from the Spanish city of Valencia and?can now speak a few sentences in Kannada.
She¡¯s been staying with a friend?in Heranjal village in Kundapur Taluk of Udupi district. Speaking to TOI, Soraino considers herself lucky to have been stuck in a village rather than a city, as people in the village are way more conscientious than the city dwellers and safety is never an issue, she said.?
Over the course of the past few months she?has actively participated in peanut cultivation, transplanting paddy, make brooms with coconut fronds and learning rangoli patterns. For her, there's no bigger joy than to experience the local culture at such close quarters.?
According to TOI, she planned this trip to India after hearing great things from her brother Carlos and his colleague Krishna Poojari, who hails from Heranjal. It's Krishna's family in Heranjal who are currently hosting Soraino.?

She had?planned the trip to India and Sri Lanka with her boyfriend before flying back in May. But just as the lockdown was announced, her boyfriend who flew in separately ended up having to go back to Spain from Mumbai airport.??
The 34-year-old plans to visit Goa before returning to Spain after international flights resume.?
