For the 'Infosys at 40' celebrations in Bengaluru, philanthropist and wife of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, Sudha Murty, was sighted singing and dancing alongside a performance by Shreya Ghoshal. Infosys, the most prominent IT firm in the world, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The video, which has gone viral, is from the Bengaluru celebrations.
In 1981, seven engineers established Infosys, an IT firm now listed on the NASDAQ and located in Bengaluru. In 2017, it reached a market valuation of $100 billion, making it the fourth Indian company to do so.?
Surprisingly, the company's "first investor" was actually Sudha Murty, who loaned her husband, Narayana Murty, Rs. 10,000.?
Narayana Murthy said that his wife handled most of the work while he was focused on building Infosys. In an interview, the husband and wife talked about their relationship and how they helped each other follow their dreams.
"We respect each other and give each other space," Sudha Murty said. She also added that they never check each other's emails.
It has been reported in the media that Sudha Murty has a total net worth of Rs. 775 crores. This figure considers the Infosys foundation and the royalties she receives from her books and short stories.
