There's good news for Indians wanting to travel abroad. As the COVID-19 situation in India continues to improve and the vaccination drive is in full swing, many countries around the world are opening their doors for Indians to travel and the good news is now you will not need to go into quarantine on travelling to these countries.?
According to a WHO report, over 6 billion people have been vaccinated globally so far.?
If you are travelling to these countries then you have to follow some instructions and Covid protocols like you should be fully vaccinated, carrying negative Covid-19 test reports, etc. Here are the countries that allowed fully vaccinated Indians to travel:
In June the country lifted the ban on travel and opened its door for Indian travellers and was the first country to do that. Indians who are fully vaccinated with WHO recognized vaccines are allowed to travel and no longer have to be quarantined after arriving in Switzerland. Children below the age of 18 years do not need to be vaccinated. Here are the details.
After 18 months long foreign travellers ban in the United States imposed by Donald Trump, it's now going to be eased from November. Passengers from India can now travel to the US albeit with a few precautionary measures with no quarantine restrictions if you are fully vaccinated but you still have to go through testing and contact tracing regimens.
"Today we're announcing a new international air travel system. This new system includes strict protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19 from passengers flying into the United States, protecting Americans and making international air travel safer," White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients told reporters during a virtual news conference.
"Most importantly, beginning in early November, foreign nationals flying to the United States will be required to be fully vaccinated and they must show proof of vaccination prior to boarding a US-bound airplane," he said.
"It will require for nationals to be vaccinated, to prove they're vaccinated, and then to go to the testing and contract tracing regimens," he said.
On 26 September 2021, Canada lifted a ban on Indian travellers and allowed fully vaccinated individuals with negative Covid-19 test reports from an approved laboratory to enter the country. Passengers need to show a negative testing report at Delhi airport and upload the information into the ArriveCAN mobile app or website. If you travel to Canada via indirect flight then the Indian negative reports would not be valid you must have a negative Covid-19 molecular test in any other third country and the test must be conducted within 72 hours of departure.
If you are fully vaccinated with Covishield or any other UK-approved vaccine you will not be quarantined on arrival in Britain from today, the High Commissioner to India said on Thursday.?
"No quarantine for India travellers to the United Kingdom fully vaccinated with Covishield or another UK-approved vaccine from 11 October. Thanks to the Indian government for close cooperation over last month," British High Commissioner to India Alex Ellis tweeted on Thursday.
If you have been planning to visit Thailand for a holiday for a very long time but couldn't go there due to covid-19 then the wait is over from October 1. Thailand allowed fully vaccinated Indians to travel and also started ¡®Visa On Arrival¡¯ for Indians. Not just India, Thai Embassy announced 18 countries can apply for Visa on Arrival at any international airport in Thailand from October 1, 2021. However, you need to apply for the Certificate of Entry (COE) to enter Thailand which is issued by the Thai Embassy or Consulate, reported.?
Last month Turkey announced fully vaccinated passengers of 12 years of age and older or who stayed in India in the last 14 days no longer be subjected to mandatory 14-day quarantine rule, with effect from the first 4, September. "The vaccines that have been approved by WHO or Turkish Government are covered under this exemption," said the Culture and Tourism Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in India. "In addition to WHO-approved vaccines, the vaccines approved by the Turkish government are Pfizer-BioNTech, Sputnik V and Sinovac." "For Indian travellers who are vaccinated with Covishield will also be allowed to travel to Turkey. Once, Covaxin gets a nod from WHO, travellers vaccinated with the same will also be able to visit Turkey.", reported IANS.
Travel restrictions have been lifted by the German government for all Indian travellers. Indians aged 12 years and above now would be allowed for all purposes.
However you need to follow some rules like you have to provide proof of vaccination, or a negative test result, or proof of recovery from COVID-19. Reportedly, vaccination certificates for travellers who have been vaccinated with Covishied in India must contain the date of birth or the passport number. Reference to the Aadhar number will not be sufficient.
Indians who get fully vaccinated with Covishield now get a Green Pass and can travel to Italy. On 24, September the Indian Embassy in Rome confirmed after a meeting between the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and his Italian counterpart, Roberto Speranza. Earlier Italy recognised Comirnaty Pfizer, Moderna, Vaxzervria AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines now Covishield added too.
Alexis Ellis, the British High Commissioner to India, said in a statement, "We're clear Covishield is not a problem. The UK is open to travel and we're already seeing a lot of people going from India to the UK, be it tourists, business people or students.". reported TOI.
Like other countries, Kenya is allowing Indian travellers to visit the country without being a quarantined policy. However, you need to show COVID negative certificate, the test for which should be done 96 hours before travel. You can apply for a visa online. Kenya also mentioned that yellow fever vaccination is mandatory for every Indian visitor for all age groups, reported TOI.
Neighbour country Nepal also lifted the travel restriction for Indians. If you are fully vaccinated with Covishield and Covaxin can enter the country. You need to show the last dose of the vaccine certificate which must be taken at least 14 days before entering the country. If you are planning to visit the country via roadways, you will get the visa on arrival and fill an online departure form before commencing the journey. If you are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated you will have to show an RT-PCR test report not less than 72 hours to be submitted and quarantine after reaching the country.
According to Schengen Visa Info, Indian nationals who are fully vaccinated and hold a valid long-stay visa, health professionals, students, highly qualified workers, persons travelling for essential family-related reasons, diplomatic and consular personnel, transport personnel, and persons who prove that they are travelling for absolutely necessary reasons are allowed to enter Spain. Indians who are vaccinated with Covishield are allowed while Covaxin is not. At present, only the Delhi centre is processing visa applications. People who travel from India must have a Schengen visa or apply for a Spanish visa through the online visa application centre, BLS, international.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that it is lifting restrictions for 14 countries including India for travelling the country from 12 September for those who have been fully vaccinated with vaccines approved by World Health Organization (WHO).?
The organisers said they expected that the remaining flight restrictions imposed by the government will be lifted in time for Expo 2020. The UAE¡¯s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority on Twitter however said that approval needs to be sought from the government and various PCR tests will be conducted before entering the country. reported Reuters.

Last on the list is France who also lifted restrictions on the travel ban and allowed Indians who were fully vaccinated to visit the country without getting quarantined. Indians who are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated have to show a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 for RT-PCR hours before departing to France and will need to be quarantined for 10 days upon entering France.
