Everyone talks about how a family is above everything and that they would do anything for their family. But the wife acted upon this statement too.
A Twitter user named Leo shared how his mother donated her kidney to his father after seeing him go through multiple dialysis sessions. In his post, he wrote,?¡°Dad had to undergo 98 dialysis sessions and mom waited for 5-6 hours with him 3 days a week in here. Then she donated her kidney to save him and now they are both out of this misery. I don't know of a better love story."
?
He further wrote more on the Twitter thread. He thanked the team at Aster Healthcare in Kochi for the successful transplant.
Not just that, he mentioned the need for more organ donation in the Twitter thread and said more than 50,000 people are waiting for a?kidney transplant.
The man went on to say that at the age of 70, both his father and mother are now the oldest kidney?donors and recipients, respectively, at the Kochi hospital. He said that it took two months of intense testing and clearance for the doctors to give them the go-ahead and that it was not only about age but also that cardiac health is a very important factor.
Moreover, he also talked about what his father had and how he got into trouble. "Dad wasn¡¯t diabetic and had hypertension under control with meds. Warf for 3+ yrs after a prior pulmonary embolism probably did the kidney?damage. Should have switched to clopidogrel earlier."
Last but not least, the man talked about the importance of having medical insurance. He mentioned how the robotic keyhole transplant surgery cost them less than Rs 12 lakh and they paid less than Rs 15,000 in total as the rest was covered by insurance. He wrote, "Hospitals have pre-negotiated package charges with insurance cos which are way LESS than out-of-pocket pay."
The post has garnered more than 1,000 likes and hundreds of comments, where users were seen lauding Leo's mother for showing her love in the ultimate form. . "That's really nice. my dad donated to my mom," shared a Twitter user. "Wishing them the best," posted another.
