And now, carrying forward the legacy of her late husband, Kanika has decided to join the Indian Army.?
According to a Mirror Now report, Kanika?recently cleared the Service Selection Board exam with merit and is gearing up to commence her service to the nation after a 49-week training at the National Defence Academy (NDA).
Speaking to the Daily, Kanika, who is addressed as Veer Nari after the passing of her husband said,'Kaustubh used to say that if life pushes you down, you always have the harness to pull yourself back,'
It's been an extremely tough year for Kanika Rane and through all the trials and tribulations, she has set her heart and channeled all her energy into paying a tribute to her husband who served the nation by joining the army.?

During the firing broke out at the LoC when a group of armed militants attempted to infiltrate the Indian territory. While prompt response by the soldiers foiled the infiltration attempt, India lost four brave Army men in the exchange of gunfire.?29-year-old Kaustubh is known as the 'Kohinoor' of the Army's 36 Rashtriya Rifles unit.?
