We all look forward to a good raise for our work at our jobs. However, a worker has recently revealed that they turned down a $25,000 (Rs 19 lakh) raise to stay at the company after quitting their?job.
Taking to Reddit, the worker?explained that it was their 'last day' at the job, as they were taking up a position at another company with a higher salary.?
According the worker, identified as Mammoth_Bone on Reddit, they would be making $35,000 more annually at the new job.
However, when the worker gave their boss a 'two-week notice', their employer offered a very huge raise, 'on the spot'.??Which they rejected instantly!
"When I gave my two weeks notice and told my boss why, he offered me a $25,000 pay bump on the spot," the worker said. "Basically a 33 percent bump for doing the exact same thing I was already doing. I declined. Why would I want to stay at a company that so obviously underpaid me for years?"??
¡°Loyalty is dead,¡± the worker added. ¡°From now on I¡¯m getting my d**n money.¡±??
The worker didn't specify what career field they were in, but mentioned in the comments that they worked in a "small industry" and didn't want to burn any bridges.
However, they replied to a user's comment and mentioned they worked at a law firm.?
