NCERT and Google partner to launch 29 Indian YouTube channels:?To improve access to high-quality education throughout India, tech behemoth Google has established a partnership with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).?NCERT will start a number of YouTube channels for students in grades 1–12 as part of this program. With programming in 29 Indian languages, including Indian Sign Language, these channels seek to provide curriculum-based learning materials in an approachable and interesting way for educators, parents, and students across the country.
The goal of YouTube has always been education. "By utilizing creative collaborations, tools, and resources, YouTube can play a transformative role in a nation like India, where accessible learning is essential to unlocking potential," stated Jonathan Katzman, Director of Product Management at YouTube Learning, in a blog post. Furthermore, Google has introduced Credentialed Courses in collaboration with the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL).?
At the moment, NPTEL provides 50 accredited courses covering a wide range of topics, from literature and the sciences to sports psychology and rocket propulsion. Through this partnership, anybody outside of the IIT system can finish NPTEL courses on YouTube and obtain IIT-issued credentials via the NPTEL-SWAYAM site.?
In the future, more courses will be introduced, Katzman said. YouTube continues to enable creators to produce instructional videos, having released organized courses in India in 2022.?
Recently, the site introduced "Key Concepts," an AI-powered tool that recognizes themes in videos and offers pertinent descriptions and images from Google's Knowledge Graph for disciplines like chemistry, biology, and physics. While YouTube Player for Education enhances the way videos are incorporated into educational platforms, other resources, such as quizzes, assist students in solidifying their comprehension.?
This tool has been implemented by partners, including Teachmint, Quizizz, and Google Classroom, to improve learning in the classroom. Earlier this year, YouTube also introduced the AI Skills House initiative, which offers free flagship courses on big language models, responsible AI, and generative AI. Currently given in English, these courses will soon be accessible in seven Indian languages.??
