Tech billionaire Elon Musk has a new plan for you! Yes, the Tesla owner is back again with a question about the urgency of establishing a self-sustaining human presence on Mars.
Well, the SpaceX CEO earlier claimed that a self-sustaining Mars colony would be possible within 20 years. For the mission, one million people and a massive cargo shipment will be required.
Musk in a recent tweet hinted about the same, saying, ¡°Will we make Mars self-sustaining before civilization loses the ability to do so? That is the critical question.¡±
The tech billionaire sparks the question in response to a post in which a person claimed that 'ATLAS SHURGGED' is coming true". Basically, Atlas Shrugged is a book by Any Rand that depicts a dystopian US in which heavy industry companies suffer under laws and regulations.
For Musk, humanity's technological capabilities may deplete before a permanent, independent settlement can be established on the red planet.
On the other hand, Elon Musk has been predicting that humanity may establish a self-sustaining city on Mars within the next 20 years. He believes that he will be required to transport a million people and huge quantities of cargo to the red planet.
As soon as Musk's tweet surfaced on X (formerly called Twitter), users quickly started commenting on the post.
One wrote, "Bro, what event are you preparing for? THAT is the question. AI will figure out how to get off the rock when the time is right; the question is, why are you in a hurry?"
"This must become a reality if the human race is to survive."
"I struggle with the idea that the earth could get so bad that Mars, which is deadly in every environmental respect, would be better.
Is it environmental collapse, overpopulation, or a collapsing resource base that is motivating us to go to Mars?"
"Can make it so I can live forever? I don¡¯t want to die. Please and thank you.
