As the festive season approaches, BLACKPINK's Ros¨¦, preparing for the release of her album rosie on December 6, recently covered Wham!'s 1984 classic 'Last Christmas' and also performed a solo version of her hit Bruno Mars duet 'APT.' For the former, she sat on a stool, reading the heartfelt lyrics from a music stand placed in front of her.?
As she sang the song, her solo fans and many BLACKPINK fans, known as BLINKs, showered her with love and praise, enjoying her raw vocals. However, on the other hand, Ros¨¦ also received a lot of backlash for her vocals, with many asking why she was singing in 'cursive' (referring to an accent while singing).
Many even stated that this is common, as the members of BLACKPINK have always used heavy backtracks and relied on backing vocals while lip-syncing. Ros¨¦ is the latest to get hit with 'bad vocals' allegations after Lisa and Jennie, who had also recently performed and faced criticism for not knowing how to sing, despite having years of experience in the industry.
The idol is set to debut her solo album, "rosie", on December 6. The album will feature 12 tracks, including 'APT' and her November single 'Number One Girl.' Announcing the release on her socials, she shared: "I have poured my blood and tears into this album. I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine. Rosie is the name I allow my friends and family to call me. With this album, I hope you all feel that much closer to me. And yes, it¡¯s a full-length album."?
Ros¨¦ also revealed that BLACKPINK, currently on a break, will reunite sometime in 2025 for a comeback and world tour, which fans are eagerly awaiting.?
