Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has responded to the controversy surrounding an employee at a Mahindra showroom in Karnataka humiliating a farmer who had come there to buy a car.??
The industrialist said the core objective of Mahindra Group is to allow communities and stakeholders to rise.?
"The Core Purpose of @MahindraRise is to enable our communities & all stakeholders to Rise. And a key Core Value is to uphold the Dignity of the Individual. Any aberration from this philosophy will be addressed with great urgency," he tweeted, quoting a tweet by Mahindra and Mahindra CEO Veejay Nakra."
Nakra promised that the company will investigate the incident and action will be taken.?
"Dealers are an integral part of delivering a customer centric experience & we ensure the respect & dignity of all our customers. We are investigating the incident & will take appropriate action, in the case of any transgression, including counselling & training of frontline staff," Nakra tweeted.?
The statements came after a farmer in Karnataka who went to a showroom to buy a Bolero pick-up truck had said he?was shooed away by sales executives who?mocked that he could hardly afford a car.
Kempegowda RL felt insulted at the treatment that was meted out to him. So, he returned 30 minutes later with 10 lakh to buy his dream?car?and exact revenge. The salesman later apologised.?
Kempegowda had gone to buy a Bolero pick-up when the salesman allegedly rudely told him off and asked him to leave.
He was told he won't even have "Rs 10 in his pocket" let alone Rs 10 lakh for a car.?
Before leaving the showroom, the agitated Kempegowda and his friends dared the sales executives to deliver the car "today itself" if they bring the cash. They were told to go ahead. "He thought we won't be able to pull together that much cash because banks were closed by then," Kempegowda told?TOI.?
The sales executive finally apologised to Kempegowda. "I don't want to buy a car from your showroom," the farmer said, walking off with his???10 lakh.
