He told Bangalore Mirror that he was out on his regular morning walk and was neither carrying his mobile or wallet with him when the incident took place.

It was around 8:00 am, and I had bought a newspaper and was returning home when an auto stopped next to me near New Weavers Colony. A transgender woman got down and asked me for Rs 10 and I told her that I did not have any money."
When she persisted, the man handed her Rs 5 that he had left with him.
He added,?¡°After taking the money, she began abusing me and did not allow me to move ahead. I tried to push her aside and walk away when two other men got down from the auto and held my hands. The transgender woman removed her slippers and hit me on my face. I managed to push them and run from there."
He then managed to flee into a small eatery.
He further said, ¡°The transgender woman came there and yelled at me, and accused me of trying to snatch her chain.
