A Goa-based civil engineer and trader, Siddharth Singh Gautam, recently sparked debate on social media after announcing his decision to leave India for Singapore. Frustrated by political mismanagement, high taxes, and worsening air quality, Gautam took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts and plans.
In his post, Gautam declared that he would permanently move to Singapore in 2025, with the relocation process already underway.?
"I will leave India and permanently shift to Singapore in 2025. Documentation in process. I cannot stand the politicians here," he wrote, expressing his disillusionment with the country's leadership.
Gautam further criticised the high tax burden, stating, "Can¡¯t pay 40% tax and breathe polluted air while nobody takes accountability."?
His dissatisfaction extended to the lack of political accountability, which he identified as a key reason for his decision.
Encouraging others to consider similar moves, Gautam offered straightforward advice: "My honest suggestion would be that if you have good money, please leave."?
