During the coronavirus pandemic, the transition to working from home was extremely fast for a lot of organizations. But, it has been over a year now since the pandemic happened and employees and employers have gotten a hold of this work from the home scene.
Several companies are now figuring out that permanent remote work is the future of work¡ªpandemic or not¡ªbecause it has opened eyes to a hassle-free way of working that is great for both the company and the employees.

Not only big MNC companies, there are many big Indian companies that are also allowing work from home for permanent for their employees. From Tata Steel to Twitter, here are some companies that now allow permanent Work From Home (WFH) for their employees:
Tata Steel Limited is an Indian multinational steel-making company that followed the new standard and announced its new work from home policy for its employees to opt WFH for up to 365 days a year, this Tata Steel's work from home policy called the 'Agile Working Model.'
The policy will ensure better work-life balance, will give more flexibility to choose where one lives as the daily work commute shifts out of consideration, provides working opportunities to new parents at their convenience, and ensures continuity of work for persons with disabilities in their respective work enabled environment.
During the second wave of the pandemic, Tata Steel has announced that the company will continue to pay the monthly salary to the family of all employees who die due to the novel coronavirus.
Under the social security schemes, the firm said that if an employee dies of Covid-19, their family would receive their last-drawn salary till the time the employee would have turned 60.
Twitter has told employees that they can keep working from home "forever" if they wish.?
In a statement, Twitter said it was "one of the first companies to go to a WFH model in the face of COVID-19, but [doesn't] anticipate being one of the first to return to offices."?
The company said if employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue doing so "forever," then "we will make that happen."?

Remote working has somehow become a norm for some major companies. If it continues post-pandemic, it is a win-win scenario for both employees and employers, who can save commute time and office expenses, respectively.
Seattle-based technology giant Microsoft has decided to expand its work-from-home policy and make it permanent for some workers. Microsoft will allow employees to work from home freely for less than 50 per cent of their working week, and managers will be able to approve permanent remote work.
An American financial services and digital payments company, Square allowed its employees to work from home permanently, following Twitter's lead. Square is letting employees work remotely, even after Covid-related shelter-in-place orders come to an end.
Spotify announced its transition to a permanent flexible-work model with its Work From Anywhere policy. A Canadian multinational e-commerce company Shopify allowed its 5,000 employees to work from home indefinitely, even after the dangers of the coronavirus pandemic fade and cities lift shutdowns.
The company plans to keep its offices largely closed for the rest of the year as it re-designs its space for a ¡°digital by default¡± mindset and adjusts to a remote work environment, Tobi Lutke, chief executive officer of the Canadian e-commerce giant, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television.?
