Courtney and Matt, a millennial couple, are discovering secret rooms, hideaways, and compartments in their 130-year-old mansion after receiving an alarming, unexpected message from the "last surviving member" of the family that previously owned the estate. "We got a letter addressed 'purchaser,'" Courtney stated in her viral TikTok tell-all, adding that the contact originated from someone in Canada.
"It says, 'Allow me to introduce myself. "I am the last surviving member of the Madison family who once owned the house, and I grew up in it," the letter stated.
"'I would like to ¡ tell you about the secret rooms and a few things you may not have been told when you bought the house.'"
The location of Courtney and Matt's new home is unknown. The couple has also not provided any definitive information on the Madison family, who previously owned the property.?
However, in the video, which has received over 1.5 million views, the new owners took a tour of their rambling Victorian-style property ¡ª which, according to another video, they recently purchased from a historical society ¡ª and revealed previously hidden secrets. First, they discovered a hidden booze cupboard over the fireplace in their front parlour.?
The treasure trove of dusty, old spirits was hidden behind a sliding mirrored panel. Unopened bottles of 1970s French ros¨¦ wine and 1989 Cabernet Sauvignon were stored alongside ageing bourbon, beer, and cream sherry.
Next, Courtney and Matt followed the letter to a secret room located "in the [bathroom], directly opposite the door in the wall."?
However, when the couple, together with their toddler daughter, searched for the hidden escape in their bathroom ¡ª which Courtney described as "by far the scariest room" in the house due to its archaic and dirty appearance ¡ª the nook turned out to be a little crawl hole rather than a room.?
