According to ScienceDirect, humanoid robots are bipedal machines designed with an upper body, arms, and a head to replicate human anatomy, engineered to emulate genuine human expressions, interactions, and movements.
The NEO Beta, a bipedal humanoid with eerily lifelike movements, is set to hit homes soon, thanks to Developers 1X.?
This year, the company plans to introduce several prototypes into everyday environments.?
1X envisions their robots assisting with household chores, as well as working in warehouses, manufacturing, and service industries.
Bernt B?rnich, CEO of 1X, says: "The future where you have humanoids at home folding your laundry is a lot closer than you think, and the price will be a lot lower than most people imagine. We can manufacture this at a cost of a relatively affordable car."
People had quite the mixed bag of reactions.
One expressed fear, saying, "After all the movies they have made, you still make this monstrosity."
Others were more excited: "Humanoids are around the corner" and, some thought it was "cool" and "super impressive."
Others felt the demo should have made it clearer which actions were AI and which were controlled by a person, with one comment noting, "This is very misleading.? It's not autonomous."
While having a robot to help with chores could be amazing, but isn't it also a bit unsettling to have a human-like machine moving around your home? It sure does feel like the start of a sci-fi dystopia with robots everywhere.
