A Delhi resident recently took to social media to share his disappointing experience with ordering gold from Blinkit during the Dhanteras festivities. Expecting to receive the full weight he paid for, he was surprised to find the gold weighed significantly less than advertised. Now, he's publicly calling out the platform, aiming to raise awareness and caution others about potential discrepancies in online gold purchases during the festive season.
In a recent social media post, Mohit Jain from Delhi shared his frustrating experience of ordering gold from Blinkit on Dhanteras, a time when purchasing precious metals is considered especially auspicious.?
He had placed an order for a 1-gram Mata Lakshmi gold coin and a 1-gram silver coin, both fully prepaid.?
Since he was not at home to receive the delivery, he entrusted the responsibility to his younger brother by sharing the OTP required for verification.
However, upon returning home 20 minutes later, he discovered that the wrong item had been delivered. "I got a 0.5 gm Malabar gold coin with a rose design," Jain explained, adding, "What I ordered was a 1 gm Mata Lakshmi gold coin."?
The shock didn't end there; in those brief 20 minutes, the return window had closed, leaving him with no direct way to reach customer support.?
"I can't contact any support executive," he shared, describing his helplessness and frustration.
Attempting to resolve the issue, he called the delivery person. "I literally cried while talking to him," he recounted, noting that the delivery agent even had pictures of the coin before delivery but was still unable to assist.?
Jain added, "He said there was nothing he could do even after knowing he delivered the wrong item."
Reflecting on his experience, Jain expressed his disillusionment with the platform's support services. "It was the first and last time of me ordering something so expensive from Blinkit," he stated, mentioning that he was left chatting with AI bots without any real support.?
To back up his claim, Jain also noted that he has CCTV footage showing the wrong item being delivered, highlighting the lack of accountability he experienced from Blinkit.
