In addition to celebrating the remarkable discovery of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) during the first week of October, Indian astronomers also took and shared pictures of the most uncommon space rock, which is thought to have formed 80,000 years ago.The comet is predicted to pass closest to Earth between October 12 and 24, having become visible in parts of the world, including India, in the first week?of?October.
A user, @sathya_narayanan_sridhar, shared an image on Instagram and wrote, "An ephemeral comet and a weathered tree stump: a timeless contrast of fleeting beauty and enduring presence!"
"Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS)October 2, 2024; 5:05 AM (UTC +5:30).?With favourable weather conditions on a streak, we planned a trip to catch the comet before we lose it to the twilight in the coming days. This was a place we frequent - Near Mahabalipuram," the user informed in the caption.?
"For those who missed it, it will re-appear in the West in the evening soon! Should be visible after October 13th immediately after sunset. Some insane predictions claim that the comet could be as bright as Venus!," the user further added.?
