On Friday, the Madhya Pradesh Police arrested a 19-year-old alleged serial killer for reportedly murdering four security guards in their sleep. According to NDTV, the accused, Shivprasad Dhurve, was inspired by the Kannada blockbuster film KGF and wanted to become famous.
He was arrested in Bhopal on Friday morning, just hours after killing another security guard.
Dhurve is caught on CCTV lurking toward one of his victims in Bhopal and smashing him over the head with a stone.?He allegedly assaulted victims at night and was inspired by KGF 2's assassin, "Rocky Bhai."?
According to Tarun Nayak, Superintendent of Police in Sagar, his sole mission was to become famous.
He murdered three security guards in MP's Sagar over three nights and another in Bhopal on Thursday.?On Sunday, he murdered Kalyan Lodhi, a factory guard. Shambhu Dube, a 60-year-old guard at a college, was his second victim.
Mangal Ahirwar, Dhurve's third victim, was also a watchman. Sonu Varma, a marble shop guard from Bhopal, was the fourth victim.
The pattern of Dhurve's killings spurred fears of a "stone man" in MP this week.?The police are also investigating his possible involvement in the May murder of a construction site watchman, who was found dead with a shoe on his battered face.?Police had also released his sketch.?
Dhurve was caught after cops located the phone he reportedly stole from one of the victims.
"It was a blind murder. The police chased him down as he was carrying the mobile phone of his second or third victim. Based on the...location, he was caught in Bhopal," said MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra. Dhurve was nabbed at a bus stop at 3:30 am.
Dhurve, who had previously studied up to Class 8 and worked in Goa, is being investigated by the police.
