Tensions on the Indo-China border have spiked and are said to be the highest since 1962 after over 20 troops, including an Indian commanding officer, were killed in the face-off in Galwan valley.?
The Indian Army has now released the names of the 20 soldiers killed in the clash with Chinese troops.?

As many as 13 soldiers belonged to the Bihar Regiment, with twelve of them from 16 Bihar Battalion including Colonel B Santosh Babu, and one from 12 Bihar Battalion. Three of the martyrs were soldiers from Punjab Regiment. Two belonged to Medium Regiment while one each from Field Regiment and MBSC.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday convened an all-party virtual meet on June 19 to discuss the situation at the India-China border. "In order to discuss the situation in the India-China border areas, Prime Minister @narendramodi has called for an all-party meeting at 5 pm on 19th June. Presidents of various political parties would take part in this virtual meeting," the PMO tweeted.?
Confirming its casualties, the Army, in a statement said, ¡°Indian and Chinese troops have disengaged at Galwan area where they had earlier clashed on the night of 15/16 June. 17 Indian troops, who were critically injured in the line of duty at stand-off location, exposed to sub-zero temperatures in the high altitude terrain have succumbed to their injuries, taking the total that were killed in action to 20.¡±?
The clash reportedly took place just two days after army chief General MM Naravane had said that Indian and Chinese troops were disengaging in a phased manner starting from Galwan river area at the LAC in Ladakh, reported?The Deccan Chronicle.
