We have all heard stories from the older generation seemingly talking about how things have changed in the last 50 years. While stories about not having internet back in the day may be a little stale, there's no denying that life has changed dramatically.
Life today is very different from life 50 years ago due to advances in technology and medicine.
A video from that time, originally shared by the BBC, has now resurfaced online. It highlights some children talking about how the world will be in the 2000s. The predictions are eye-opening and frighteningly accurate.
The clip is actually a snippet from an episode of?BBC's?Tomorrow's World that originally aired on December 28, 1966.
In the video, school students can be seen making predictions about what life would be like for them in the year 2000.
The video begins with a boy talking about how life will be more dependent on statistics.?
As the clip goes on, another girl expresses how people without knowledge of computers will simply be out of jobs.
In an extended video, which is viral on YouTube, shows another boy made a prediction when it comes to animals like livestock being artificially created and also raised to produce larger animals, which has come to be true in the form of artificial meat and genetically modified food.? ??
Another girl said people in the future won't be able to live in regular houses as it would "take up too much room". She said people would have to be in flats, piled on top of one another. She also believed the houses would be "rather small" and cramped.??
The video was shared on Twitter by Historic Vids. It has garnered more than 1.3 million views and over 39,000 likes.?
People have taken to the comment section and are quite literally shocked by the accurate predictions of some of the students.?
The first kid was 100% spot on. We are regarded as statistics, well to the capitalist standards and government level. Whether he meant it in this way or not, would be very interesting to know. The other kids predictions I think will be right within the next few hundred," a person said.?
"Damn it they jinxed us, why couldn¡¯t they have said everyone will be rich & happy," a second user said.?
"these kids were not wrong, I wonder if any of these kids are still alive today and be interviewed again what would they think?" another added.?
Well, they weren't wrong!?
