A Pokemon 3DS lover has leveraged his passion for the game system to develop an engaging and straightforward simulation that aims to convey the complexities of a total solar eclipse.?
The gamer posted a video showcasing the astronomical phenomenon with Sun and Moon cartridges from the Pokemon Nintendo 3DS. The total solar eclipse will see the moon completely obscure the Sun's light for a brief duration, following a path known as the path of totality.?
Concerned for people who were unable to watch the eclipse in person, a user on X (previously Twitter) published a 14-second video of a Pokemon-themed replica of the total eclipse.
The solar eclipse began at 2:07 p.m. ET (21:12 IST) on April 8, with the moon's shadow predicted to arrive on Mexico's Pacific coast. This year's complete eclipse route, which is 185 kilometers wide, will pass across areas inhabited by almost 32 million Americans, with an additional 150 million living within a 200-mile radius.?
Those living further away can still see a partial eclipse or watch a webcast offered by the US space agency NASA.The next total solar eclipse viewable from a large part of North America is not expected until 2044.
While the celestial event was invisible to spectators in India, NASA will transmit it live, allowing enthusiasts all over the world to experience the phenomena.?
NASA will begin a live stream of telescope views of the sun and coverage on NASA TV at 1 p.m. EDT (21:12 IST) on Monday, as the total eclipse crosses North America.?
