An order by India's MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) has banned the use of 59 Chinese apps in the country. The order states: Chinese apps are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.

Other than TikTok, popular applications like SHAREIt, UC Browser, Baidu Map etc. have also been banned.

CarryMinati - real name Ajay Nagar - cried war as his video was flagged and reported by people for being homophobic. His followers became his army and social media was abuzz with memes around TikTok and its users.?
