It's no secret that many in Hollywood rallied behind Kamala Harris, only to feel disillusioned after Donald Trump's victory as the next President of the United States. Some, like Ellen DeGeneres, even left the U.S. in response. However, since Harris's loss, few have spoken out¡ªuntil now. Actress Sharon Stone has broken her silence with a sharp critique of American politics, describing the country as being in its "adolescent stage," marked by ignorance and arrogance. Many on the internet are interpreting her comments as a direct rebuke to those who supported Trump in the election.
Sharon Stone, a vocal supporter of Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race, didn't hold back when criticising American politics during her appearance at the Torino Film Festival in Italy.?

Stone took aim at the political climate in America, suggesting that the country's current state mirrors adolescence. "We have to stop and think about who we choose for government," she said, subtly referencing President-elect Trump. "And if, in fact, we are actually choosing our government or if the government is choosing itself."
Drawing a historical parallel, Stone reminded the audience of Italy's past with fascism. "Italy has seen fascism. Italy has seen these things, you guys. And you understand what happens. You have seen this before."
She went on to describe the U.S. as being in a stage of "adolescence," noting that adolescence is marked by ignorance and arrogance.
"Adolescence is very arrogant. Adolescence thinks it knows everything. Adolescence is naive and ignorant and arrogant. And we are in our ignorant, arrogant adolescence."
Stone also highlighted the country's educational divide, pointing out that ¡°80% of Americans don't have a passport" and suggesting this contributes to a "naive" worldview. "Americans who don't travel, who are uneducated, are in their extraordinary na?vet¨¦," she said.
On the issue of helping others, Stone challenged the idea that only women should support other women, emphasising that the responsibility extends to men as well. "Good men must help good men," she said. "And those good men must be very aware that a lot of their friends are not good men."
She then issued a stark warning: "We can't continue to pretend that your friends are good men when they're not good men. And you must be very clear-minded and understand that your friends who are not good men are dangerous, violent men. And you have to keep them away from your daughters, your wives, and your girlfriends, because this is the time when we can no longer look away, when bad men are bad."
Stone's words have resonated with many, particularly as she paints a grim picture of the current political and social climate in America, urging action and accountability.
