Jonty Rhodes, a South African cricket icon, has been in India for some days now. On Friday, he posted on X, blasting Air India for a flight delay and detailing how his seat on the plane was shattered. Rhodes stated in the X post that his "flying bad luck continues". His flight from Mumbai to Delhi was delayed for over an hour and a half.
After boarding, the cricketer noticed his seat was shattered. He used an angry emoticon in his post to convey his annoyance with having to sign a waiver accepting the broken seat. Rhodes stated that he is "not looking forward to the next 36 hours" because it includes a return journey to Mumbai from Delhi and another to Cape Town from there.
This comes after Air India made news due to operational changes. Meanwhile, the airline plans to merge with Vistara on November 12.
¡°Starting 03 September 2024, customers will, progressively, no longer be able to make bookings with Vistara for travel on or after 12 November 2024. All Vistara aircraft thereafter will be operated by Air India and bookings for the routes operated by these aircraft will be redirected to Air India¡¯s website. Vistara will continue to take bookings and operate flights as usual till 11 November 2024,¡± Vistara said in a statement Friday.?
Air India responded to Rhodes¡¯s post saying, ¡°Dear Sir, we regret to hear about your experience. Rest assured, we will thoroughly investigate your concern and ensure your feedback is shared internally.¡±
