Now that China has been successful in controlling the spread of coronavirus, other countries are turning to it for help. However, you know how the ¡®made in China¡¯ stuff is infamous all around the world for not being reliable? Well, it turned out to be the case with the coronavirus testing kits too.?
After finding out that the detection rate of coronavirus testing kits that Spain bought from a Chinese vendor was just 30% the government withdrew 9,000 of them.?
Spain currently has the second highest death rate because of coronavirus, after Italy.?
According to reports, this batch of Chinese-made kits bought by Spanish health authorities a few weeks ago has been pulled after they were discovered to be unreliable.?
The Chinese embassy in its defense said that Spanish government had purchased the items from an unlicensed company called Shenzhen Bioeasy Biotechnology, which is not on its list of authorised vendors.?Spain¡¯s health ministry said that the country would be sending the kits back. He also mentioned that they were not directly bought from the Chinese manufacturer but from a ¡®supply company in Spain that had purchased them in China and had provided the necessary accompanying paperwork¡¯.?
Reports of faulty test kits also came from Czech Republic. Local Czech site Expats.cz reported that ¡®up to 80 percent of the 150,000 portable, quick coronavirus test kits China delivered to the Czech Republic earlier this month were faulty¡¯. The results are produced in 10-15 minutes but they are less accurate than other tests so the country has decided to rely on its on lab tests.?
Well, so much so for your help, China.?
