In good news for pet parents, Swiggy introduced a 'pawternity policy' for its employees, and a 'pawlice' feature the app for users to find their missing pets. The features were rolled out on National Pet Day, April 11. Here's all you need to know.
Not just food or groceries, you can now get help finding your beloved pet thanks to Swiggy's 'pawlice' feature. All you have to do is provide all the relevant information and photos and a special team at Swiggy helps find your fur kid.
"As a pet parent myself, I understand firsthand the worry and anguish that accompanies the thought of a pet going missing. While I sincerely hope that such a distressing event never occurs to any fellow pet parent, if it does, Swiggy Pawlice stands ready to be a dependable resource to assist them,¡±?Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy Food Marketplace told media.
Not only that, Swiggy also launched a pawternity leave policy for pet parents. In addition to annual leaves, all full-time employees at the company will now get adoption leave, sick leave to take care of pets in case they're ill, and even bereavement leave. According to a report,?Swiggy is the first Indian company to introduce?such pet-friendly policies.
Once you click on the 'know more' button (image 1), it leads you to a separate page showing three clear steps (shown above). Once you hit proceed, it takes you to a Google doc, where you need to sign in with your email id. The form then asks you for your details which are listed below:
- your name
- your contact
- description of your pet
- breed of your pet
- colour of your pet
- additional details (collar, pet name, distinguishing mark etc.)
- area where your pet was last seen
- pin code of location where your pet was last seen
- when your pet was last seen (date and time)
- a recent photo of your pet
You then hit submit.
Swiggy¡¯s extensive network of over 3.5 lakh delivery partners takes centre stage here. Considering their knowledge of areas where they regularly deliver, it puts them in a better position to assist. Once a missing pet is spotted, the delivery executive notifies a special team. This team then notifies the owner so they can quicjly rescue their pet.
