Video of Praveen Mall, manager-cum-principal of a private school (Harivansh Memorial Inter College )?in Mau district giving ¡®cheating¡¯ tips to the students is going viral. He was arrested for advising students to cheat during Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) exam, which started in the state on Tuesday.?
The video was secretly recorded by a student; Mr Mall was giving out tips on how to cheat in board exams in the presence of some parents.?
The student reportedly uploaded the video, with a complaint, on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's grievance portal, that led to Mr Mall's arrest.
In the clip he can be heard saying, "manage to write answers by looking at copies in front or behind you. Keep the decorum. If some invigilator catches you cheating and slaps you, politely ask them to slap you again, ask for forgiveness. This will only benefit you. If you stand up and fight it will prove harmful for the entire school."
He further said, "I suggest all students to not leave any question unanswered, put in a 100 bucks and the teacher will give you a number blindly. No one examines what you have actually written in the answer. There is step marking, so the more you write, the more marks you'll secure."
He concluded his speech with "Jai Hind, Jai Bharat.¡±
According to reports, this year UP government has made extensive arrangements to put a check on mass cheating. Over 56 lakh candidates from Class 10 and Class 12 are appearing for the state board exams.?
The UP government has also launched a Twitter handle for immediate resolution of complaints and queries.?
But how can the government possibly keep a check on students when they are being taught to and encouraged to cheat by the authority itself?
