As India struggles with a massive surge in COVID-19 cases and acute shortage of medical supplies, especially oxygen, the crisis seems to be only mounting by the day.
In another instance that highlights the dire situation, a woman?along with an oxygen cylinder, was seen being ferried to a district hospital on a wooden cart after an ambulance failed to reach on time, India Today reported.?
The incident?reportedly took place in Madhya Pradesh's?Ujjain?district and came to light after a video went viral on social media.?
The 30-year-old woman, a?resident of Govinda village of Shajapur district,?was taken to hospital after suffering from breathlessness.? ?

As the woman's condition had deteriorated, her family members called the ambulance but to no avail. Later, her relatives bought a wooden cart for Rs 50 and ferried the woman to the hospital along with an oxygen cylinder. The woman's condition is now stable, according to India Today.
When asked to comment on the matter, the Ujjain collector said he was not aware of any such video but said, "People should call our helpline number (1075) during an emergency and they will be provided services".??

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh reported 12,384 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours. At present, the state has as many as 84,957 active cases.?In the last 24 hours, 9,620 Covid patients were discharged.?
