Ah, Bollywood¡ªthe land where dreams come true (especially if your last name already belongs to a star-studded lineage). The nepotism debate never really left, but boy, it is on fire again! After Karan Johar's recent film?Nadaniyaan?introduced Ibrahim Ali Khan (Saif Ali Khan and ex-wife Amrita Singh's son) to the world, the nepotism critics sharpened their knives once more. But guess who's also feeling the heat? Veer Pahariya, who also made his debut with?Sky Force.
During an interview with Bollywood Chronicles, journalist Shruti Sinha didn't waste a second and hit him with THE question: ¡°Is Karan Johar now officially the filmmaker who exclusively launches star kids?¡± And oh boy, Veer was not ready for this one. First, he awkwardly looked behind at his team, whispered, ¡°I do mind answering this question,¡± and then, after a not-so-secret consultation with his PR squad, he simply dodged it with a classic ¡°Let's keep this for the next time.¡± Umm¡ what next time, Veer? Because the internet is already taking notes!
Karan Johar's post for Ibrahim Ali Khan:
Sinha later shared the video on her Instagram, and netizens were quick to flood the comment section. ¡°Finally, someone asked the right question!¡± one user wrote. Another chimed in, ¡°This needs to go viral¡ªpeople need to see his real personality.¡± Meanwhile, others pointed out that Veer's silence speaks louder than words. A user also said, ¡°No idea about his real personality, he is just saying what is being told by the PR team.¡±
But that's not all. The?Sky Force?actor, who was mercilessly trolled for his dance moves and PR gimmicks, tried to take it all in stride. ¡°I'm here to entertain people, and that's what I'm doing,¡± he reportedly said in response to the hate. However, when pressed on his privilege, he gave a rather bold reply, saying that he considers himself lucky to be born into such a family and questioned what people expect him to do¡ª¡°Should I be reborn?¡± Yikes, talk about dramatic!
?While?Sky Force?has been doing well at the box office with over Rs 104 crore in earnings, Veer's real battle seems to be outside the theatres. Whether he answers the nepotism question or not, social media has already given its verdict. And let's just say¡ªit's not in his favour!
