Elephants have the largest brains among all living creatures, which undoubtedly makes them exceptionally smart and intelligent. Their brains have a total of 300 billion neurons which is three times more than humans.?
Their mental capabilities are mind blowing and impress us every now and then. On top of that, catching an elephant in the act of doing something smart is a bonus for the Internet, because everyone loves to watch animal videos.
A video of an elephant climbing up an extremely narrow staircase is doing the rounds on the internet. The video was shared by Indian Forest Officer Parveen Kaswan on Twitter, so that the rest of us also have the opportunity to witness the animal's intelligence.
He also added a fact about elephants. He wrote,
'You see how good he has used those narrow stairs to climb the elevation. Elephants use resources in the best manner. They learn fast, like how to deal with power fencing, blockades, such infra etc. Just to survive'.
In the video, you can see a full-grown elephant climbing a narrow staircase to get to an elevated ground, and its precision in doing so is absolutely perfect.?
Once it's done with the stairs, it turns around and gives one last look which kind of makes it look like he's saying, "I did it!".
While a few reactions pointed out that human beings are destroying natural habitats of animals...
Some expressed concern for the animal that he could have fallen down and hurt himself.
...The rest were in awe of the elephant being such an intelligent being.
As much as this video is mesmerising to watch, it definitely shows the sad reality of wild animals suffering due to their natural habitats being destroyed in the name of 'development'.
