In a world ruled by Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp*s been the app we use more out of necessity than excitement. It*s where the ※family update§ messages pile up, and where all the ※corporate grind§ chats live on unread. But for the first time in a while, WhatsApp has finally dropped an update that actually feels fresh 每 introducing custom chat lists! No, this isn*t another clone of a Snapchat feature or a &seen-before* update; it*s genuinely useful, and dare we say, kinda exciting.
Earlier this year, WhatsApp launched a Chat Filters feature that allowed us to sort conversations into three basic categories: All, Unread, and Groups. It was a nice start, but not very specific. If you*re part of multiple friend groups or projects, everything just got lumped under ※Groups,§ and that was still messy. With the new Lists feature, though, we can take control and create our own categories 每 say, one list for Besties, another for Work Peeps, and maybe one for Exams panic chats. Suddenly, finding your actual friends amongst the random groups you*re added to is easier than ever.
Setting it up is straightforward. Tap the ※+§ icon at the top of your Chats tab to start creating a list, and voil角, you can drag your chats into organised bliss! This feature works for both group chats and individual chats, so if you*re juggling between friends, family, and everyone in between, this is going to save some serious scrolling time.
It*s rolling out globally, so if it hasn*t appeared on your phone yet, it*s on its way. Just make sure you*ve got the latest WhatsApp version installed. And that*s not all 每 WhatsApp now also allows users to add contacts from any device, so you*re no longer restricted to your primary phone. That*s a major upgrade for multi-device fans who need to keep things synced.
WhatsApp is on a serious roll here, likely aiming to keep the two billion global users they*ve amassed, especially with the platform now hitting 100 million in the US alone. So, while we*re waiting for more ※wow§ features, this one has at least added some much-needed organisation to our chat chaos.?
This Lists feature could be the tool that finally gives WhatsApp that ※I*ll check it just for fun§ spark.
