The JioHotstar.com domain saga recently took an international turn after it was bought by Dubai-based siblings Jainam and Jivika. This came days after an Indian techie bought this domain before the merger of Star India and Viacom18 which would see Disney+ Hotstar absorbing JioCinema for a single OTT platform. He did this intending to fund his education with the negotiation fees from Reliance Industries (RIL).
However soon after this news flooded the internet, he was approached by a Reliance executive in order to buy the domain with no money involved. A part of his update on October 24 read, ¡°An Executive from Reliance reached out - Ambujesh Yadav Ji, AVP, Commercials. A request was made for ?93,345, which represents the tuition fees for the EMBA program. The request has been denied. Reliance will proceed with legal action. I don't have the power to stand against Reliance.¡±
A day later, the software developer posted that he had sought legal advice and would continue to retain the domain. However, in no time, his presence was swept off and a sibling duo named Jainam and Jivika took over the space. There¡¯s no clarity where the techie was able to sell it to them or he just gave up the domain which was immediately taken over by these young Dubai-based influencers.
Dedicated to an educational initiative for underprivileged children, Jainam and Jivika are young content creators based in Dubai. Having started their journey in 2017 via YouTube with family-friendly unboxing videos, their channel now features DIY content around toys and games. Their official website?jainamjivikafuntime.com?reveals that while Jainam is 13 years old, his sister is 10 years old.
The duo have even established an NGO called the Jainam Jivika Foundation where Kantilal Shankarlal Jain and Shobha Kantilal Jain serve as the directors. They soon plan to launch a podcast titled ¡®TalkFM, Dubai Audio¡¯ which will feature celebrity guests talking around themes of positivity and kindness.
