The Muni-Ki-Reti police arrested a 30-year-old American woman on Saturday for allegedly shooting an 'obscene' video at Lakshman Jhula, a bridge over holy Ganges River in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
However, the woman in question has denied the charges against her and said that she was just shooting a promotional video for her online business of garland and gems, reported Times of India.?
Muni-Ki-Reti police station SHO said the accused American woman filmed obscene content at the Lakshman Jhula and later uploaded the clip on social media. Cops produced her in a local court after recording her arrest.
He told TOI, ˇ°We have arrested an American woman in connection with shooting an obscene video and uploading it on social media".

The duo were arrested for allegedly posting obscene content which was shot at the Lakshman Jhula. The pair had also claimed to be shooting at the site for the promotion of the woman's business.
She was booked under Section 294 (obscene acts and songs) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 (transmitting obscene material) of the Information and Technology Act.

In August, a local resident Gajendra Singh Sajwan filed a complaint against unidentified foreigners and youths for doing obscene acts in a public place after which the police registered a case under section 67 of IT Act and section 294 (obscene acts and songs) of the IPC, and launched an investigation.
