I am all for exciting new ice cream flavours but this one is a big NO from me! Amul just introduced a new flavour of its Isabcool ice cream, and people are just now finding out that it has Isabgol as one of its ingredients.?
Isabgol is a common laxative used by Indians. It is used to relieve constipation. The insoluble fibre present in Isabgol causes the stool to soften and expand, thereby improving gut movement.
While some daring people would want to try this new flavour, others were not so impressed with the concept. Imagine eating an ice cream laced with laxatives! Lactose intolerant people will have to spend days on the pot after eating this.?
Twitter user Nandita Iyer took to the microblogging website to share the latest ice cream by Amul. "No thanks," reads the caption of the post shared by Iyer. She shared a screenshot of Amul's poster about the Isabgol flavoured ice cream.?
"Wonder whose shitty idea this was," Iyer added to the thread.
People took to the comments section of the post to share their opinions on the ice cream flavour.
"Wait what? And they went to the extent of calling it ¡®Isabcool¡¯?" wrote one user.
"Isab-golmaal hai," joked another user.
"Actually.. the flavour of this ice cream is really good. It just has 2% isabgol. So basically it is just a marketing ploy playing on its immunity factor nothing else. Market is loving it," informed a third user.
