A man from Chicago, US, left people baffled after he got arrested twice in a day's time for breaking into cars. The biggest shock of the case was not just the consecutive arrests but the fact that he did the criminal activity while being hooked up to an ankle monitor for picking locks on cars.??
Rodolfo Santillan proved that habits die hard when he tried to break into a work crew¡¯s van while he was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet. He had been put on monitor for two previous attempts to burglarize cars.?
Two hours after he was held at gunpoint and brought into custody, Santillan again tried to rob a car but was caught.?Things heated up when Santillan was caught by a concealed carry holder who saw the man in his car. The licenced firearms holder pointed his gun at the robber when Chicago police showed up.
However, the police at first mistook the firearm holder as the offender and pointed their weapons at him until he explained the situation and got Santillan booked.?
The officers then arrested the?robber and charged him with misdemeanour criminal trespass. After a while at the Austin District station, Santillan was out of there. Around two hours after his first arrest of the day, cops once again got Santillan in cuffs.
This time he was apprehended in West Belmont. According to the prosecutor, Santillan was already being held by two workers when the police arrived at the scene. They informed the police that Santillan was attempting a break-in when they noticed him. They caught him inside their car and apprehended him immediately.
This entire time the robber was being held, he was wearing a monitor for two of his pending burglary cases.
