Coronavirus has claimed more than 2,600 lives worldwide and affected almost 80,000 people. The daily lives of people in China have been disrupted. Those quarantined have been forced to?walk their dogs by 'air dropping' them from a long leash.
And people who are courageous enough to go out to walk their pets and being punished with latter's death.
A Chinese community officer allegedly beat two toy poodles to death with an iron rod in front of their owner to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The poodles were clubbed to death in broad daylight in a residential complex.
The officer and the dogs' owner reportedly got into a heated argument. The officer asked the owner to not take his pets out to walk but the resident insisted on taking them out.
A video that is going viral shows the officer violently striking one of the dogs as the owner tries to protect his pet. An account wrote on Twitter-like Weibo 'The officer threatened to beat the owner to death if he didn't give away the dogs'. One of the dogs was 10-year-old and reportedly had crippled back legs.
The post went on to say, 'You've killed dogs today. Are you going to kill people tomorrow. Where is justice when such violence exists?' It is one thing to prevent the spread of virus it is another to practice animal cruelty.? ?
