Indian weddings are nothing short of a Bollywood movie. There is a lot of entertainment and there sure are a lot of over-the-top ways by which people celebrate getting married.?
One quite common and pretty dangerous way in which people celebrate getting married is by firing guns and rifles in the air. Things like these can only be seen in an Indian wedding. While the firing of guns may seem pretty cool, it had very heavy repercussions at one of the weddings.?
The incident occurred in the Brahmnagar area of Sonbhadra district. It was also recorded on camera.
According to an NDTV report, in the 12-second video clip, the groom - Manish Madheshia - was seen on a chariot with those parts of the wedding procession standing around him. The groom was firing as part of celebrations during which a bullet hit his friend Babu Lal Yadav, an Army jawan. The gun used by the groom belonged to Yadav.??
A video of the same was shared by a Twitter user Piyush Rai. He wrote, "In UP's Sonbhadra, groom Manish Madheshia killed his friend and Army Jawan Babu Lal Yadav after the pistol used for celebratory fire during wedding procession accidentally fired. The pistol belonged to the deceased Army jawan."??
The Superintendent of Police of Sonbhadra Amrendra Pratap Singh mentioned that the groom and the victim were friends. Immediately after the firing, Yadav was rushed to the hospital but died during treatment.? ?
According to police sources, once the doctors declared Babulal dead, the people who transported him to the hospital fled the scene. ¡°The police detained the groom and a few other persons and they are being quizzed,¡± they said.??
According to the FIR presented by the police station, "Robertsganj police station arrested one hater accused related to the murder in Harsh firing. One pistol with four bullets and one no-fire cartridge were recovered from possession."
After the victim's death, his family registered an FIR for murder and the groom named Manish has been arrested, he said. The gun used for the firing has also been seized.
Manish has been booked under Section 304 IPC which says that whoever causes the death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
