We've heard a number of ways in which thieves have successfully stolen money from ATMs, but this conman's method is the mother of all tricks.
This Gujarat con artist literally struck his fingers inside the ATM withdrawal slot to get extra cash out.?
And the money that he caught hold of was never really debited from his account.?
According to a TOI report, the man named Harsh Patel hails from Surat and was finally caught by the Union bank manager who cracked the code of his trick.?
The Chandkheda Police told TOI that the manager, Anup Singh, matched the ATM withdrawal tally with the total cash deposited in the ATM and the end of the day, the numbers never matched.?
And this went on for a while.

VR Desai, a sub-inspector at Chandkheda police station, said that the accused would block the cash dispenser tray and would put his fingers into it.
He withdrew Rs 1.54 lakh cash without it being debited from his bank account.
However, as the money was already in the tray, Patel would stick his fingers in and get the notes out.
He added that the sums withdrawn from July to November 2018 were deliberately kept small - between Rs 9,800 and Rs 15,000 in order to avoid detection. The accused has been arrested and is being probed.
