Meet Tony Sanchez-Arino, one of world's most notorious trophy hunters and quite possibly the most disliked person.
The 89-year-old hunter has killed 1,317 elephants, 127 black rhino, 167 leopards and 2,093 buffalo, along with 340 lions so far, reports The Sun.?
The irony is that Arino has now shamelessly voiced his 'concern' over the sad number of African elephants that remain.
"The African elephant will be hunted to extinction in the wild within our lifetime, to the shame of humanity," he said in his book Elephants, Ivory And Hunters, which was published back in 2002. He even went as far as claiming he's devoted his life to the cause of the African elephant.
Oh, the irony!?
Tony Sanchez-Arino, 89, is disturbingly celebrated as the world¡¯s ¡°most dangerous and experienced game hunter¡± among fans of the blood sport.
The Sun quoted Eduardo Gon?alves, founder of the Campaign to Ban Trophy Hunting, as saying, "The trophy hunting industry is slaughtering elephants left, right and centre."
"Killing elephants for fun is unacceptable, even more so because of the seriousness of the current crisis," he added.
