A Starbucks employee has posted a picture of a customer's super-customised order, which almost made him quit his job.?
While some customers opt for a simple black coffee, others order fancy drinks with whipped cream and sugary syrups.?
Barista Josie who works at Starbucks shared a picture of one of his customers' order which had requested 13 add-ons.
"On today's episode of why I wanna quit my job," Josie wrote on Twitter while sharing a picture of the drink.?The sticker on the cup lists the out of the world customisations. Have a look!
5 bananas? Okay.
Needless to say, the post blew up on the microblogging website with other baristas sharing similar experiences. In fact, Josie told Buzzfeed that, "As far as the 'wildest drink' I¡¯ve had to prepare, it was a hot americano with a sticker *the size of my palm* full of customizations. I didn¡¯t take a picture because we were very busy."
The man who ordered the drink, Edward, doesn't believe there is anything wrong with his 'drizzled, whipped up, iced, crunched Venti Caramel Crunch Frappe.' He told The New York Post,?"I don¡¯t see a reason why I wouldn¡¯t order a drink like this again."
However, the tweet didn't sit well with the coffee company and Josie was terminated from his two-year term as a Starbucks barista in Los Angeles.?
Josie said, "Making drinks like these can be really stressful for baristas. Especially when managers want us to have each drink prepared for the customer in seconds."
He added, "Last year, a customer ordered 26 drinks at once. And at least half of them came with all these crazy customizations and demands. It took me over 10 minutes to make them all just right."
Edward got in touch with Josie after he found that his order had gone viral. He said, "I wanted to let him know that he didn¡¯t do anything wrong. It¡¯s definitely an order people could find funny."
Josie said, "It¡¯s fine to keep ordering these speciality drinks from Starbucks. As long as you take care of the people who make the drinks by giving them a decent tip, then everyone should be happy."
Speaking to?Fox News, a Starbucks spokesperson said, "Customizing beverages at Starbucks and our baristas' expertise in helping customers find and craft the right beverage has and always will be the heart of the Starbucks experience. There are many ways for customers to modify their favorite beverage at Starbucks and most customizations are reasonable requests from customers."
