A New?Mexico?art collective has allegedly claimedresponsibility for the mysterious monoliths in Utah and California?
The group?has already sold three 10-foot-tall 'authentic alien' monoliths, which were priced at a whopping $45,000 (Rs?33,09,943) per piece.?
The Most Famous Artist has shared a number of photos and videos of the monoliths, including what the collective claims are original renderings of the design, reports The Daily Mail.

On its?website and Instagram?posts, the group has taken credit for the original one in Utah, as well as the replica that?popped up in Atascadero, California.??
The collective rose to fame in 2017, when they tampered with the iconic Hollywood sign, changing it to 'Hollyweed'.?

The art collective, based in Santa Fe, posted an image onFriday of a tall monolith being wheeled out of a workshop.?

The Most Famous Artist account then shared Instagramphotos of articles covering the monoliths, original concept art and, perhaps the most telling - a masked artist who appeared to be in the middle of making a monolith.
'You mean it wasn¡¯t aliens?! Monoliths-as-a-service.com', the caption read.
The founder of the art collective, Matty Mo, spoke about the art installations in an interview with?Mashable, but stopped short of giving an outright answer.?
'I am not able to say much because of legalities of the original installation', Mo told Mashable via DM.?
'I can say we are well known for stunts of this nature and at this time we are offering authentic art objects through monoliths-as-a-service. I cannot issue additional images at this time but I can promise more on this in the coming days and weeks'.
