The Special Relief Commissioner has been issuing heatwave alerts across the State, particularly for nine districts, until April 30.Amidst concerning reports of rising temperature, a video from Odisha has gone viral.

An undated video shared by a Twitter user on 25th April is all over social media. In the video, a woman in the Sonepur district of Odisha is seen making roti on the car's bonnet.?

The temperature recorded in the video was reportedly 40 degrees Celsius.?

Nila Madhab Panda, an Indian film producer, and director who is a native of Odisha’s Sonepur, shared the video from his official account.?

He captioned the video: "Scenes from my town Sonepur. It’s so hot that one can make roti on the car Bonnet.”?

A PTI report claims that India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heatwaves as Odisha continued to swelter in the grip of a severe heatwave on April 25, prompting the state government to suspend classes in all schools for five days from Tuesday.?

The state weather department's office said that several districts bore the brunt, including Cuttack, Khurda, Angul, Subarnapur, Boudh, and Nayagarh. The maximum temperature rose by 1-3? C in several places, while the minimum temperature was also higher than normal in some areas.
