A daring heist recently occurred at an Apple Store in Washington, where thieves made off with iPhones worth a staggering $500,000 (roughly Rs 4 crore). The robbers used an ingenious plan to access the store, digging through the wall of a nearby coffee shop called Seattle Coffee Gear.?
Once inside, they seized the valuable iPhones and made their escape.
According to a tweet by the coffee shop's owner, Eric Marks, who talked to Seattle's King 5 News about what happened, the thieves came into the coffee shop to cut a hole in the bathroom wall.?
This strategic move would have allowed them to access the Apple Store next door, which they ultimately managed to breach.
"I would have never suspected we were adjacent to the Apple Store, how it wraps around, I mean," Marks told the News website.?
"So, someone really had to think it out and have access to the mall layout."
Interestingly, the thieves targeted only the iPhones and did not take any other products from the store.?
In November of last year, a small-scale iPhone seller who frequently made large purchases from an Apple Store for his business was robbed of 125 iPhones worth approximately $95,000.?
