An apparent faith healer from Pakistan hammered a nail into a pregnant woman's head so that she could give birth to a boy instead of a girl.?
This woman reached the?Lady Reading Hospital in the city of Peshawar with the two-inch nail pierced into the top of her forehead on the advice of a faith healer. The woman initially told hospital staff that she had hammered the nail into her head herself on the advice of the faith healer, before later admitting he actually did that.
According to Geo News reports, the pregnant woman who already had three daughters was told she would have another girl. This is when she visited the faith healer after her husband threatened to divorce her if she failed to give birth to a boy.
The doctor of Lady Reading Hospital said that the woman arrived at the hospital after trying to extract the nail with her own self with pliers.?The doctor said: 'She was fully conscious, but was in immense pain.'
An X-ray showed the two-inch nail had pierced the top of the woman's forehead but missed her brain. The doctor said a hammer or something heavy was used to force the nail inside the woman's head.?
Peshawar police said victim support officers have been directed to meet the woman to try and get details of the incident. They will take severe actions against the people involved.?
City police chief Abbas Ahsan said: 'We have collected the CCTV footage from the hospital and hope to reach the woman soon.'We will soon lay our hands on the sorcerer.'? ??
