With the advent of digital life, cash payments have completely disappeared from people's lives. Hardly anyone carries cash anymore, at least in metro cities. All people ask for nowadays is a scan code while making any payment.?
Believe it or not, even wedding shagun has become digital. No more flying cash at weddings, some dhol wallas have a UPI scanner pasted on their dhols to collect shagun.?

Earlier it was common for wedding guests to shower money on the band during various ceremonies; they are now accepting digital payments as shagun.?
The band is of course hired for?a fixed remuneration, but a chunk of it is also showered during the ceremonies, and this video is proof that the professionals have adapted well to the use of digital technology and that's how they now accept payments.?

The Minister of Railways and Minister of Electronics and Information Technology along with video, wrote in the caption, "Digital shagun in marriage. Expansion of Digital media."
The video, which is now viral, has gathered more than 350k views with a host of likes and comments. Many people lauded the digital progress of the musicians while others were not fans of the idea.?
A man wrote, "Happy to see but one side govt encourage people to use digital payments and carry soft cash and another side madam finance minister adding tax in term of service or convenience fee."?
Another man added, "But we still don't accept UPI at government agency counters.Railways, BUS, Government officeeverywhere standard practice is to take cash for official purposes."
Another man took the whole discussion to another level. He tweeted, "There should be a paytm scanner code on the back of the wedding cards, and deliver the food (to guests) via zomato or swiggy."
