Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, has just taken "customer service" to a new level. In an unusual move, he recently worked as a food delivery executive for a day with his wife Grecia Munoz. But here's where things get interesting: Goyal revealed, when he was on delivery duty in Gurgaon, he wasn't allowed to enter a mall and was instructed to take the stairs instead. Even the CEO had to face a reality check!
Goyal took to social media to share his story, stating that he had arrived at Gurgaon's Ambience Mall to pick up an order from Haldiram's. He mentioned being instructed to use a separate door and quickly realised they were telling him to take the stairs. The video showed him strolling up to the mall's entrance dressed in a red Zomato delivery executive costume.
He can be seen having an interaction with security officers, who direct him to a stairway on the side. He enquires again to see whether there are special elevators for delivery executives before climbing the steps to the third floor and entering the restaurant. Because the reality was, there were no elevators for the delivery folks!
When Goyal reached the third floor, he received more bad news. He stated that after climbing the steps to the third story, he realised that they were not permitted to enter the mall and had to wait on the stairs to get their food.
The video then showed Goyal chilling on the floor with other delivery men, casually conversing while they waited for their meal orders. He stated, "I hung out with my fellow delivery partners and got some real talk feedback from them."?Goyal eventually managed to "sneak in" and collect the order while the security guy was on break. "Then it was finally time to head out for delivery," he concluded the video.
He noted that during his second order, he recognised the need to collaborate with malls to enhance working conditions for all delivery partners. He emphasised that malls should adopt a more humane approach towards delivery guys.?Through the day when he donned the role of a delivery driver, the 41-year-old foodpreneuer shared several posts. Goyal expressed his emotions over the experience in a video on social media, captioning one of the pictures, "I'm loving delivering food to our customers and enjoying the ride.¡±
