December Begins On A Happy Note For Investors As Sensex & Nifty Hit All-time Highs

India's stock market has reacted positively to the four state election results which were announced yesterday. Sensex and Nifty both closed at all-time highs today, thanks to the surge in financial and energy stocks. This came amid the already boosted by strong macroeconomic data and easing global interest rate expectations.

When Did Sensex & Nifty Hit All-time High?

On December 4, 2023 (today), Nifty50 rose 2.07% to 20,686.80 points, notching a record high for the second session in a row and hitting an all-time high mark on Friday. On the other hand, Sensex?climbed 2.05% to 68,865.12, a record close. Sensex jumped over 1300 points and Nifty jumped over 400 points today. During the trading session today, Sensex hit an all-time high of 68918.22, whereas Nifty hit its new record high of 20702.55.?

Investor wealth, as suggested by the BSE m-cap, rose Rs 5.83 lakh crore to Rs 343.51 lakh crore today compared with a valuation of Rs 337.67 lakh crore recorded during the previous session of Friday, as per Business Today.

Which Stocks Lead The Stock Market Surge?

11 of the 13 major sectors hit new all-time highs on Monday. Financial services?(NIFTYFIN)?rose up 3.23% and energy stocks?(NIFTYENR)?climbed 2.61%, leading sectoral gains. The two indexes account for about 46.5% weightage in Nifty 50 index, as per a Reuters report.?Index heavyweights Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank?gained between 1% and 5%.

Larsen & Toubro?jumped 3.93% after several analysts identified the company as one of their preferred picks, citing potential gains from the government's focus on infrastructure and welfare spending.

Adani group stocks advanced between 1.4% and 10% and topped gains in several sectoral indexes including metals?and energy.?Eicher Motors?hit a record high on robust November sales.

Also,?as many as 417 stocks hit their 52-week high levels today. BSE 500 stocks such as 360 One Wam, ABB India, Adani Power, Ajanta Pharma, Apollo Tyres, Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Holdings, Bharat Electronics and Bharat Forge hit their respective one-year high levels, as per Business Today/
