If the mass layoffs and the ongoing chaos at Twitter weren't already enough, the world¡¯s richest person Elon Musk has now cut company employees' perks. These include daycare,?wellness, productivity, home internet, training and development, and quarterly team activities, according to an internal memo seen by the American tech website The Verge.
"Allowances will be re-evaluated over time and may be added back when the company's financial situation improves," the memo read.?
This seems another cost-cutting measure at Twitter by Elon Musk, a few weeks after he mentioned that the possibility of bankruptcy cannot be ruled out if the company does not begin generating more cash flows.
Meanwhile, Twitter CEO Musk has publicly expressed a desire to improve Twitter's direct messages.?According to The Verge, Elon Musk told his employees that the company would encrypt DMs and work to add encrypted video and voice calling between accounts.
"We want to enable users to be able to communicate without being concerned about their privacy, [or] without being concerned about a data breach at Twitter causing all of their DMs to hit the web, or think that maybe someone at Twitter could be spying on their DMs," Musk was quoted as saying.
As far as layoffs are concerned, after back-to-back job cut announcements at Twitter since the day he took over Twitter, Elon Musk has reportedly said that the company is finally done with layoffs and is hiring again.
At a meeting with Twitter employees, Musk also claimed that Twitter is now actively hiring for positions in engineering and sales. He has also reportedly asked the staffers to recommend potential candidates.
